Four five-letter words are locked into a diamond. They share their point letters — the circles belong to two words at once. Guess one letter at a time; you never type a whole word.
Green — the letter is somewhere on the diamond. Every matching cell flips at once. Free.
Red — the letter is not here at all. Costs 1.0.
Yellow — on Easy only: the letter is not here, but one of its alphabet neighbours is.
Costs 0.5 instead of 1.0. No wrap: A only touches B, Z only touches Y.
Fill every cell before you run out of demerits. The centre badge always counts how many of the puzzle's letters you have turned up, out of its total.
Hard gives you nothing else: no free letter, and every miss costs a full point — but the budget is 5.0 instead of 4.0. Normal publishes one letter that is definitely in the puzzle, in the centre badge. Easy publishes that letter and softens near misses to yellow.
Close this and faint arrows appear on the board for a moment, showing which way each word reads.
iPhone doesn't let a website do this itself — it takes two taps in Safari:
1. Tap Share (the square with an arrow) in Safari's toolbar.
2. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
Point a phone camera at this. It opens WordDiamond in the browser — from there, Share → Add to Home Screen puts it on the home screen like an app.
